Lawrence J. Ciaccia is currently the President of Black River Advisors providing technology, strategy and operational consulting and sits on the board of several technology companies and is Chairman of the Children’s Hunger Project.
Previously he was the CEO of AuthenTec, a leading provider of biometric fingerprint sensors, until the successful sale of the company to Apple in October of 2012. He remained a director at Apple through the integration completion in February 1, 2013.
Larry joined AuthenTec in 2005 and has also served as AuthenTec’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Ciaccia was a key member of the executive team on AuthenTec’s IPO in 2007.
Prior to joining AuthenTec, he was VP-GM of the Wireless Products unit at Conexant, the former WLAN business of Intersil, a leader in mobile and communication semiconductors. While at Intersil, he spearheaded the development of the company’s 802.11 Wi-Fi initiative and was instrumental in Intersil’s highly successful IPO and sale of the wireless business to GlobespanVirata, which subsequently merged with Conexant.
Mr. Ciaccia began his career in 1980 with the Semiconductor Sector of Harris Corporation which later became Intersil. Mr. Ciaccia earned a BSEE degree from Clarkson University in New York and an MBA from Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida.
