Marcelo is a physicist from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and has a Ph.D in Physics applied to Neuroscience at the Institute of Physics at USP and the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Harvard Medical School (USA). In 2013, he invented and patented a “Multifunctional, portable and flexible source of light to treatments and therapies,” BR 10 2013 000 547 9. To commercially validate his discoveries, he founded the company Bright Photomedicine in 2014. His focus is to use his scientific knowledge to help solve major problems of mankind.
Marcelo’s education background includes: a Bachelor in Physics from Federal University of Ceará, Fortaleza, a Masters in Physics applied to Medicine from São Paulo University, São Paulo, and a PhD in Physics Applied to Medicine from São Paulo University, São Paulo – SP / Harvard Medical School.
He is the Founder, Scientific and Product director for Bright Photomedicine in Brazil. He was also a visiting researcher for the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston (Harvard – MIT Health Science and Technology) in 2013.
Marcelo is also the Organizer and Co-author of the book: “Low-level Laser Therapy: research and clinical application”, Pan Stanford Publishing, released in 2015.
